If you want to send me some props, or just a line about my blog, or just to burn me in an unnecessary diss, drop me a line or two at troysparks@roadrunner.com

  1. Troy:

My name is David Sheets, and I’m a tech writer, game reviewer and sports editor at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. I’m looking for people who have played APL 2K8 and “Madden” and can offer me their views on how the two compare. Your name crossed my desktop because I saw your blog post about creating the St. Louis “R’s” on APL 2K8 and thought you might be interested in doing a brief interview for my weekly online column, “Tech Talk.”

If you’re interested, just e-mail me at dsheets@post-dispatch.com, or call me at 314-340-8389. (I’ll be out of the office much of this week, so you’re best bet will be e-mail.)

Thanks for your time, and I look forward to speaking with you soon.

  2. Troy: Do you happen to have the name and e-mail address of the person running this All-Stars of Blogging? I seem to have misplaced it.

Your site seems outstanding. I’m a big Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan, if you ever are looking for some perspective on either of them. Also, I’d be very willing to exchange links for Blogrolls, if that is of interest.

    Thanks. –MJ.

  3. Hey Michael. Not too sure about the e-mail address of the main administrator. ‘Sorry about that one. If I ever do find out, I’ll disclose that to you via e-mail first hand.

I’m definitely interested on exchanging links for blogrolling.

  4. Just wanted to say, you are a great writer, you don’t write from your ass and you give a good outlook on every issue.

Now yes, I love your articles also because I too am a Rams fan ( since 96 ) and a huge Kurt Warner fan, why are there so many idiots who blast Warner?? Why?

The guy is still going out and doing his job, 27 TDs in 11 games at 36, amazing.

I might contact you later, I’ve actually been trying to set up a site dedicated to Kurt Warner, it’s on my to do list.

  5. Hey Troy, its NY from Sports Saga, the Rays won the division, and If I recall you made a bet in the beginning of the season that if the Rays won the division then you would wear a Rays manthong for a week. Time to go shopping for that manthong … lol

  6. Hey Troy, wanted you to know that the “blog burnout” finally hit me. I blew up my Sportsattitude blog over the weekend, figuring it made no sense to leave it out in cyberspace for eternity. I did make some copies of some of my favorites for future memories. I will try to visit and comment your site in the future but most importantly I wanted to thank you for the support while I was up and running. Best, Bruce (formerly Sportsattitude).

  7. I see you are at bleacher report, so gonna back off it all..I am just glad we didn’t get our account deleted…they just deleted the duplicates from us which is cool. I was submitting them from our home page to BR and from there the stuff was getting fed into sports spyder and then I manually submitted it all to buzz, digg, yardbarker, hype, and forums were actually picking up the feeds. If its okay I will still put them on our homepage at SJ I just don’t want anything doubling back for either one of us at BR. So take care, been fun reading you lately, you’re a tremendous writer. Good luck over there.

  8. Sorry for the inconvenience, Deb. I didn’t realize I was causing any detrimental consequences to come into effect until I read the group e-mail that Reg sent. If you’d like, I could delete my BR account.

  9. on a side note come play some march madness with us…we work too hard let’s have some fun LOL Hope all is well with you. Love reading your stuff

You are probably doing a million of these but just in case you aren’t and want to get into it…the winner gets an autographed copy of Jeff Pearlman’s new book..The Rocket That Fell to Earth

  10. Sup Troy, thinking about giving this blogging a try. Check my outlook on Rams season next year. Good to see you hitting the blogs up again man

  11. Rams are looking improved. But we should have went after VINCENT JACKSON!! Just remembered I had your blog in the favorites and checked it out. Keep writing some Rams blogs man

  12. Troy,

I came across your site tonight and I enjoyed reading your entries. I would like to include a link to your blog on my site, sportsoverall.com. I just started the site and hope to include a blog in the near future.

Just let me know if you are OK with me adding a link to your blog to my site.

    Thanks,

  13. November 9, 2008. I just saw my farewell note on this trail above. Wow. Hard to believe it has been that long. I chucked working for the man for working for myself. Setting up a Professional Writing Service biz for everything from copywriting to resume coaching. Hey, I have another blog at lifeattitudes.com where I do non-sports. If you have a chance check a couple posts out and if so…please leave a comment or two over there. Good to be back and so glad you found me, but in my defense I did try to find you…honest!

    1. Very awesome to see you back, man! You were probably my closest blogging friend on here. Feels like 2007-2008 again! Congrats on the writing service! How’s the experience been? I’ll definitely head on over to your other blog, for sure.

I’ve commenced in a couple of pseudo Michael Jordan-esque ‘blog retirements’ since late ’08. Once from June ’09 till January ’10. The other was when I closed off the blog in late February till mid April. Thought I was finished, but blogging has a way of bringing back the originals, as it looks like it’s done that to you!

      1. Troy…I started writing again just as you are pondering different, future options…perhaps this will lull you out of retirement in some fashion going forward. I hope so. (I found this “history” here and couldn’t resist leaving a note with the other ones…) 🙂

  14. Troy, checking in to see how it is going. Rams on the horizon. Have not seen a post in awhile and miss the good reads on both your sites. Let me know how things are going! Bruce B.

  15. Hey Troy,
Any update as to where Austin Fuller is playing now? Last i read was on your blog but his name doesn’t show up on either SMU’s or North Texas rosters?????

  16. Hey Troy. Are you the guy that was writting on alphamusings.wordpress.com? If you did, what happened with that? I really enjoyed reading that blog!

    1. Yes, I am that guy. That was two summers ago. I basically created that blog as a side project — it turned into more than just that, but by the fall of that year I was burned out with it, hardly updated and closed it. I’ve always been open to the idea of writing more content on there again, but I haven’t gotten around to it.

Really surprised to run into someone that used to frequent it, though. Were you a regular commenter back then, under a different name? How did you find TSTOS? Thanks for letting me know you enjoyed AM.

  17. Hey Troy, great sports blog. Enjoyed your Brady is Clutch article and couldn’t have agreed more. Would you be interested in contributing articles to our sports site at intheneutralzone.com? We are getting over 60,000 hits per month and growing, so would be a good way to gain more exposure. Let me know if you are interested at boone@rapideyemedia.org.

  18. My name is Lisa and my son Martez is 23 years old and is a boxer who won the Chicago Golden Glove in 2010 and he meet a trainer without a gym that teaches MMA.
Martez won his first match in MMA but this is the sport that this trainer wants him to focus on but my son needs a trainer that can train him both because he is gifted and will give you a show and I promise you that whatever trainer or promoter that will take him on their wing, I really promise you that they will never regret it.
I need a trainer for my son but we are not able to pay for a trainer at this time but I promise if you put this kid to work in your gym, that would be a great thing for whoever give this youth a little of their time . Our youth, our future.
