Should’ve been a sweep.

But I sold the Spurs short. I had them beating the Heat in six. Instead, they do it in five. What a beautiful NBA Finals culminating in the Larry O’Brien trophy being held up by the members of an incredible franchise.

The way the Spurs minimized the nonexistent effectiveness of Dwyane Wade and made Heat players not named “LeBron” invisible should be looked at in the future as a benchmark for accomplishment.

Tim Duncan (my all-time favorite basketball player, hence the banner I’ve been using since 2007), right after the Spurs defeated the Thunder in the Western Conference Finals, said, “We’re gonna get it done this time”.

They did.
