The “Nature Boy”, Ric Flair, has been everywhere lately. From the locker room of the San Francisco 49ers to Duluth, Georgia for UFC Fight Night 35. A .gif image of Flair will also make a cameo in this post. His relevance to this post or in this post is not obligated for yours truly’s explanation. It’s time, ladies and gentlemen, for four NFL teams to play a respective pair of games and figure out who’s good enough to head to the “biggen”.
Patriots @ Broncos
What a game, what a game. Before the playoffs started I had the Broncos going to the Super Bowl. I guess I abandoned that pick last week when I picked the Chargers to beat them. Ah, well. Everybody does it. That’s my validation. It’s impressive how the Patriots have come this far despite being banged up all over the place. Probably the most banged up team in the NFL this season. No Rob Gronkowski, Vince Wilfork, Jarrod Mayo, Brandon Spikes and an offense that features a number four wide out in Julian Edelman being a 105 catch receiver? Yikes. Regardless, I just can’t imagine this team keeping up with Denver’s scoring output. But then again, stranger things have happened, and it’s Bill Belichick and Tom Brady. Prediction: Broncos 38-28
49ers @ Seahawks
I despise both teams. Let’s get this out of the way quickly. I feel that the Seahawks peaked in late November/early December. How so? Well, their offense hasn’t been that impressive over the last month. Looking for stats to back up that claim? Look elsewhere or watch the game tape. They won’t beat the Niners with their defense alone, even if they have the edge by playing at home. The 49ers are the road warriors of the NFL right now. They are hands down the best team in the league currently, overall and all around, as well as the healthiest. I have them beating the Seahawks outright and going to Metlife Stadium in New York and beating the Broncos. Prediction: 21-13 49ers
