The St. Louis Rams have released free safety O.J. Atogwe due to discrepancies over not wanting to pay him a due $8 million bonus from a contract he received in June 2010 that spanned 5 years worth $32 million.
Fortunately, the Rams are looking into restructuring a new [reasonable] contract that will keep him in blue and gold for a great length.
Atogwe is one of my favorite players on the team. Sure, the numbers of tackles he’s made over the years seems inflated due to how often opposing runing backs have gotten into the secondary, but nonetheless he’s an absolute animal. I’m proud to say that he plays for my favorite football team, or well, did. Other Rams fans will (or at least I believe should) also be hoping that general manager Billy DeVaney and Co. brings him back.
