I don’t like the Arizona Cardinals a bit, but Kurt Warner I can tolerate, only because he’s one of my favorite former Rams of all time, and was a sequential member of the Super Bowl XXXVI team and 2001 NFC Conference team. He anchored the greatest offense the NFL will ever see (please, don’t bring up the 2007 Patriots; save yourself) and — along with guys like Marshall Faulk, Isaac Bruce, Torry Holt, Ricky Proehl, and Azhir Hakim — made Rams fans and NFL fans not only in the United States but world smile, every Sunday afternoon.
Kurt Warner is in his fourth year with the Arizona Cardinals, and during the pre-season was selected to be the starter of the team over future starter (or, presumed to be the future starter) Matt Leinart. So far, Warner has completed 70 percent of his passes for 558 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions, going 38 completions of 54 attempts.
Granted, Arizona has only played San Francisco and Miami, but they are looking solid so far. Why should we fans already hand over the NFC West to the Seahawks? Seattle is injury riddled and not looking good. If they don’t beat my beloved Rams by at least 14 points this Sunday, I’ll be confused about them. Right now, Arizona is my pick to win the West.
