Rumor has it that 35-year-old Shaquille O’Neal is ready to run. . . with the Phoenix Suns.

According to the above link, [unnamed] sources told ESPN that the Miami Heat and [Phoneix] Suns were setting up trade negotiations to trade ‘Shaq Daddy’ to Phoenix in exchange for Marcus Banks and Shawn Marion.

Just a quick thought at 7:30 in the morning, why are the Suns wanting Shaq? He’s slow, won’t fit the flow of the game the Suns are running [fast, action-packed running] and he can’t seem to get anything to go in the basket anymore. Are they using him for a defensive identity, backup? What is it?

Whatever it is, it looks like Miami is getting one hell of a deal here. I’ve always been a fan of Marcus Banks ever since he was in Boston.

  1. This marks the end of Steve Kerr’s career as a front-office person and the re-birth of his broadcasting career. I have no earthly idea what he was thinking.
