St. Louis Cardinals OF Juan Encarnacion’s career is likely done. After being hit in the head, there are reports all over the internet that the Redbirds player’s career is now hindered.
“It’s clearly a matter of hope,” Dr. George Paletta, the Cardinals’ head team physician said. “You hope the best for Juan and hope that he does recover. But as the [team’s] statement said, he suffered a very severe injury to the eye with a very guarded prognosis with respect to him recovering his full vision. It’s way too early to say whether he will or he won’t, and if he doesn’t, what percentage of vision loss he may have. We keep our fingers crossed, say a prayer for him and make sure he’s getting the best treatment he can get.”
Rick Ankiel has turned his life around after the mental pains of the playoffs a few years ago and is a productive outfielder now. Let’s hope for the same kind of success for Juan.
