Today, the Virginia Tech Hokies will emotionally open up their 2007 college football season against the East Carolina Pirates. With rampant sentimental feelings in the air, the Hokies will take the field out of the tunnel in Lane Stadium in Blacksburgh, VA, and run out onto the field instantly symbolizing the strength, energy, emotion, and all else that concocts into that mix of the university from the aftermath of the tragedy from April 16.
I live in Virginia, and have been a Hokies fan since birth. So as I wrote back in April when the shooting took place, the shooting was tough to realize and soothe it all in.
Today, it’s not about the improvements that can be made with Junior QB Sean Glennon, the overall inconsistent offense of the Hokies, or about the amazing power the defense dons. It’s the day the Hokies and the entire Hokie Nation shows to America that they, will prevail.
